Koadi is a wooden pole made from palm tree and adorned with palm fronds, meticulously crafted by skilled islanders who have been perfecting this art for generations. Made on the fourth day of Eid al-Adha in Kinbidhoo as the celebration continues.
The Koadi is brought out in the evening for a lively and playful event. Men and women take turns cutting each other's Koadi without revealing their identities until the end, creating an air of suspense and excitement. The event is filled with dancing and teasing, heightening the festive atmosphere.
As the celebration peaks, both Koadis are eventually cut down, and the ones who cut the Koadi are found and handed over to the respective parties.
The individuals responsible for the cutting are punished and walked around the island hanging a necklace made with coconut and later given a bath and gifts by the islanders.
